About Us
Welcome To DAUWOYE
Daraja United Women and Youth Empowerment is a Kenyan, women/youth – led national NGO focused on women and youth empowerment. We work in the rural areas of Kenya, but are currently in Kisii and Nyamira counties. It was incepted in 1997 as a self-help group by the name of Bidii Women Group. The focus of the organization was to create economic empowerment opportunities for women. The organization took part in several program focusing on HIV/AIDs, sexual reproductive health in general. In December 2007, we registered as an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) under our current title, Daraja United Women and Youth Empowerment (DAUWOYE).

Chairman
Malach Obare: Trained health provider and proprietor of Igare Medical Center with enormous experience in health management systems and community leardership.

CEO
Winfridah Abuya: Trained healthcare provider, proprietor and founder of Daraja Medical Center, which helped in the formation of DAUWOYE. She also acts as the secretary to the board.

Treasurer
Jane Omwangwa: Nurse manager in public health facilities in Kisii County for over ten years.

Vice Chairman
Japhet Onsongo: Trained accountant with expertise in audits and financial leadership.

Assistant Secretary
Paul Okari, Assistant secretary: Former Human Resource and Administrator in public health facilities in Kisii County.

Financial Advisor
Abraham Kebiro: Former Kenya Treasury employee for over 35 years.

Legal Advisor
Charles Oyienda: A lawyer by profession and has experience for over 20 years.

Anne Basweti: Teacher for over 15 years who is an expert in handling youths and adolescents in mental and reproductive health education

Youth Representative
Mourine Moraa: Final year college student leader with skills in capacity building on behavioral change and self-reliance.
